I'm back! After being away for a while, I really couldn't miss the first tea festival in the Netherlands. Hosted last Sunday the 29th, the same day as the Melbourne tea festival, in Utrecht @ Fabrique.
It was a small but cozy festival with a lot of popular known tea brands, but also some great surprises. Like the beautiful Edvina Erebara of Lemon Poppy. I love the pureness of her product. The "Çaj Mali, pronounced as ‘ts-jai mali’, is Albanian for “mountain tea". It is a gorgeous herbal tea used to support health for thousands of years. She sells the plant as tea, but also makes this amazing ice tea of it. It was so delicious, you would definitely hear more from me about Edvina and Lemon Poppy soon!
Luckily I also found some fellow dutch fighters for a better quality tea in the Netherlands. Like HotSoup, Essentials Teas and Amazing teas. We are fighting for the pure teas and trying to offer more than the traditional teabags of Pickwick. I also came across of Cupkes founded designed by Marijke Mol. A brand that I believe will fit amazing in the Netherlands. Her illustrations on the tea packages are interesting and really easy to blend in the current Tea culture of the Netherlands. Last but definitely not least is the Belgium Ceramics Designer Iris Weichler aka TheeMuze whichs makes a modern interpretation of Japenese ceramics. Beautiful pieces that complement the high quality teas sold at the festival.
An interesting but really small festival which was worth visiting, soon more about Amazing Teas and Lemon Poppy.
